With the support of local businesses, governments and community members, the Marin Workforce Housing Trust provides low-cost financing for desperately needed workforce housing development in Marin County.
Marin County is a wonderful place to live, but many of our local workers can't afford to live here. Every day, workers who provide essential services in Marin – our teachers, nurses, office workers, police officers, daycare providers, retail clerks, and restaurant workers – drive long distances from surrounding counties just to get to work. As a result, Highway 101 and our local roadways are choked with traffic. Workers lose precious time with their families, and employers have a hard time attracting and keeping quality employees.
Marin County is facing a severe shortage of workforce housing that demands community action now.
The Marin Workforce Housing Trust is uniquely positioned to help solve the workforce housing crisis and preserve the quality of life in Marin. Through our revolving loan fund, we target our investments to have the greatest impact on workforce housing development in Marin.
